Will Haer

Associate Pastor

Will Haer

Rock Port has been part of my family for years. Growing up, I spent much time with my grandparents, BW and Mary Lou Nauman. My parents are Bonita and Steven Haer. I went to high school at Craig RIII and graduated in 2009.

After High School, I got my undergraduate degree and master's at NWMSU. While in college, I had the opportunity to follow my passion and was on the track team. During my time at NW and competing in track, I found success by being able to compete in multiple National Championships and introducing me to my Wife, Gretchen Haer.

After college, I coached at Northwest for a few years before coming home and working as the Safety Manager at Golden Triangle Energy. I live in Mound City where my two children, Kruse (6) and Opal (4), go to school.

During my time at college, I had the opportunity to become the interim preacher for New Liberty Baptist Church on Highway C outside of Mound City in 2013. In 2015 I was offered and accepted the position as their vocational preacher, and I still preach there today.

This year I was given the opportunity to be the associate pastor at your church, and it has been a blessing to me and my family. When I first answered the call to become a pastor, I knew that preaching would be a central aspect of my ministry.

However, I could never have anticipated just how profoundly it would impact my own spiritual journey. Preparing and delivering sermons has forced me to dig deeper into God's Word than I ever thought possible. It has challenged me to study, reflect, and pray with a level of dedication that has enriched my understanding and my personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.

As we continue on this journey together, I want you to know that preaching is not just a duty for me; it is a great blessing and a means through which God has drawn me closer to Him and to all of you. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community of faith, and it is my prayer that our relationship with the Lord will continue to deepen and flourish through the sharing of His Word. I look forward to meeting more of you and diving deeper into God's Word!
